Literature Text
i have been to the cosmos of you;
kicked the habit ragged (rued-in
skin) and ruined us for thirst
well, the empire's sly
pocketing the win-in-concept
knowing aluminum eyes won't pierce the tin-thin veil
he stitched together out of interstellar light
so you still linger
latent image on empty screen,
and i still stare into the distance
pretending not to want to drink the stars

Literature
consecrate
authenticity an arsenic
in morning coffee, in the smiles
pressed like ironed laundry,
because I feel like one wrong breath,
one wrong kiss between glossed lips and soft jaws
and I will be nailed to a cross
deception a shame rising like steam,
where teeth grind against each other
like clockwork gears, tick tick ticking
while the tongue kisses the roof of its cathedral
like a prayer to gods yet to be named
because her face is a mosaic window
shining the sin out of love

Run nails down my
arm; I won't let you under
my skin anymore
Literature
grow
To the dandelion,
In this part of the world,
the heart of July is frigid.
Frost renders the clay-earth firm as concrete
while gusts from the snowies
raze any hope of warmth.
Things do not thrive here,
yet this is where fate cast your seed
and you, unwillingly, grew your roots,
and became mangled
by what should have nurtured.
But spoiler alert:
survival is no pretty thing.
You are no spring tulip,
no summer orchid,
no autumn rose.
Though it shames you now,
the day will come
where you are proud
of having grown
out of a crack in pavement.

up and across time's ladder
into that blackest night
up and across time's ladder
into that blackest night
